How the test works
You start by choosing what you would most like help with, such as falling asleep, waking at 3am or a racing mind. A few questions about your sleep show whether what keeps you awake is the kind of thing hypnosis works on. Two short experiments, the lemon and magnetic fingers, show how your imagination and body respond to suggestion. Then a safety check looks for signs that a doctor should see first.
Your result gives you an honest answer, a score made up of sleep fit, readiness and hypnotic response, and a suggested next step. That might be my free Restful Deep Sleep Hypnosis session, a recorded session for your sleep problem, a consultation call, or a visit to your GP.
Questions people ask
How long does the sleep hypnosis test take?
About 4 minutes. There are 17 short questions, two 30 to 40 second experiments and a quick safety check.
Is the test a diagnosis?
No. It is a guide to whether hypnotherapy is likely to suit you. It does not diagnose sleep disorders, and if poor sleep has lasted 3 months or more you should see your GP.
What happens to my answers?
The test works in your browser, and nothing leaves your device unless you ask me to email your result. If you do, I receive your first name, email address and your result, including any safety answers that affected it, and use them only to send it. Your name, email address and sleep goal go onto my email list only if you also tick the box for sleep tips. Your safety answers never do.
Why does the test ask about snoring and daytime sleepiness?
Some sleep problems, such as sleep apnoea, restless legs or narcolepsy, have a medical cause and need a doctor first. The safety check makes sure you are pointed to the right kind of help.
